Cairns day tours come down to reef or rainforest if you only have one day — choose the reef, because you cannot recreate a coral garden in the botanic gardens. With two or three days, do both: a dedicated boat day and a Daintree or Cape Tribulation day (or Kuranda if seas or motion sickness win). Stinger season is typically November to May.
